The EarthDial project is a set of sundials  worldwide in celebrstion of the current Mars Rover programme. Viewers can see sundials from the northern and southern Hemispheres and actually see the sun sweeping across the Earth.  The motto of the project is 'Two Worlds One Sun'  The project is a joint collboration between The Planetary society, the World's largest space interest group. Bill Nye 'The Science Guy' and Nye Labs and Woody Sullivan at the University of Washington

I built my dial from recycled materials as an individual project and incorporated a series of historical images to show some of the interesting features of this ancient area (settled for at least 1000 years and probably much longer). Nearby Lutterworth - 1.5 miles - appears in the
Domesday Book (pronounced Doomsday) of 1086

To see more of this fascinating area which played an important role in English history and in shaping the world as we know it,

The Dial is housed here (on the Garage roof!)
